History
The Sphinx is believed that it could be located in the bottom of the Temple complex of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri (Arabic: ), which literally means "The North Convent, a temple complex burial and tombs located on the west bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt nome IV, opposite the ancient city of Thebes, today's Luxor, Egypt. The sculpture depicts Hatshepsut, Queen Pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt. Fifth ruler of the dynasty, who reigned from ca. Aboutaam 1479 a. C. to 1457 BC C. Chronology according to von Beckerath, Kitchen, Aldred and Malek, ruled under the name of Hatshepsut Maatkara.
